Developers in Dubai continue to
compete on the world stage as a new development in Business Bay wins an award
at a European property show. This international award, given to new and
upcoming tower developments, will be presented at the MIPIM awards in France,
attended by the leading engineers, architects and developers in the industry.
The “Cluster Complex”, designed
by Denton Corker Marshall, will add a range of new services to Business Bay and
will stand in contrast to the usual office towers in the area. Designed to
allow professionals in Business Bay to live and work in the same place, the
complex is a tower development divided into four smaller towers and connected
in the centre by a 225 meter atrium. The four towers, 75 floors each, are also
divided into smaller sections or “clusters” and each cluster is an individual
office building between 5 and 11 floors. To make the towers even more
visionary, they will be connected by “sky lobbies” on several levels. These
lobbies will have landscaped gardens and panoramic views of Business Bay.
At the base of the development
will be a five level podium which will have several apartments and a hotel. The
podium will also have a range of shops, restaurants, cafes and even street
performers, giving you the sense of being outside on a busy, cosmopolitan
street. In fact, Denton Corker Marshall, who have also worked as city planners,
have given the whole development the feeling of a small city. This will provide
residents with a range of services and will give Business Bay a new focus.
