Green Community is a development by Union Properties that aims to provide a green working and living environment surrounded by landscaped gardens and small lakes. The development, that is located in the desert, has over 60 hectares of retail and residential space and is so in-demand with investors that Union Properties has added a new section called Green Community West. The development has a range of townhouses, villas and apartments that are sold on a 90 year lease. The development is located outside the city, like the Arabian Ranches, but it is conveniently located for those who work in Jebel Ali Free Zone. Traffic inside the development is not a concern, but there is one main road, Emirates Road, that connects the community to the rest of the city. This road becomes congested at times, especially during rush hour, but the development is a self-contained and has a shopping center, supermarket, medical center, pharmacy and dry-cleaners. There are also a number of restaurants and cafes, as well as a primary school called The Children’s Garden.
